A graveside service for Mrs. Bernice Virginia Hillin, age 77, of the Pine Hill Community in Panola County, TX, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at Pine Hill Cemetery with Terry Holland officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hillin passed away on Saturday morning, Sept. 21, 2013, at her home in Pine Hill.
Bernice Virginia Rector Hillin was born on Feb. 21, 1936, in Garrison, TX to William and Edith Evans Rector. She graduated from Garrison High School with the class of 1954. Mrs. Hillin worked as a store clerk at the NuWay and Fillin Station in Carthage for over 20 years until her retirement. She loved hunting and sitting on her front porch watching deer. Mrs. Hillin moved to Panola County in 1984 from Cushing. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Kupe and Nulen Rector; and two sisters, Katheryn Reynolds and Laverne Brashire.
Mrs. Hillin is survived by two sons, James Larry Hillin and wife Rhonda and William Chet Hillin and wife Toni all of Pine Hill; five grandchildren, Stormie Whitaker and James, Justin, Emily, and Jacklyn Hillin; three great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive Mrs. Hillin.
