Funeral services for Mrs. Bernice Dean Franks were on Monday, December 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville, Louisiana with Deacon Ken Primeaux officiating. Interment was at St. Joseph #2 Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Marksville. Local arrangments are by Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Franks, age, 82, of Carthage, Texas, formerly of Marksville, LA. passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024 at UT Health Hospital in Carthage, Texas. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Cilton Lachney; second husband, Arnold Franks; parents, Paul Moras, Sr. and Edna Vercher Moras; daughter, Janet Tyler; brother, Jimmy Moras; sisters, Juanita Dauzat, Betty St. Andry, Marie Dubroc; grandson, Chance Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jerry Lachney and Terry Lachney both of Echo, LA.; daughter, Cindy Smith of Carthage, TX.; brothers, Paul Moras, Jr. of Hessmer, LA, Charles Moras of Echo, LA., Lester Moras of Mobil, AL.; sisters, Rose Charrier of Hessmer, LA., Pauline Miller of Florida, Sue Franks of Pollock, LA., Martha Moore of Pineville, LA. and Lessie Inabinet of Florida. She also leaves behind her 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
