Funeral services for Mrs. Becky Rickert, age 70 of Carthage, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2009, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Thomasson officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park near Carthage. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Rickert passed away on Thursday afternoon, April 16, 2009, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Rebecca Ann Bryan Rickert was born on February 6, 1939 in Baker, Florida to Percy Dozier Bryan and Alice Bradley Bryan. She attended Pensacola schools. She married Bruce Anthony Rickert on December 10, 1955 in Canton, Mississippi. Mrs. Rickert was a member of the Texas Preceptor Epsilon Tau which is a division of Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed all Lions Club activities in which she participated with her husband. Mrs. Rickert moved to Carthage in 1970 from Bradenton, Florida. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carthage. Mrs. Rickert was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Eric Michael McDaniel.

Mrs. Rickert is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bruce Rickert of Carthage; two sons, Curtis Rickert and wife Cindy of Bossier City and Bryan Rickert and wife Jennifer of Carthage; two daughters, Debbie Lauth and husband Danny of East Meadow, New York and Nancy Daugereau and husband Greg of Carthage; two sisters, Garnetta Davidson and Opal Edgar and husband Charles all of Pensacola; eight grandchildren, Greg and Steve Rickert, Jessica Lang, Danielle Lauth, Tobius Daugereau, Kimberly Daugereau, Valerie Jones, and Bryce Rickert; two step-great-grandchildren, Breagan Boniol and Jose David Candaleria; three nieces, Martha, Kim, and Susan; and eight nephews, Chuck, Jody, Tim, Randy, Brandon, Curtis, Steve, and Billy. Numerous friends also survive Mrs. Rickert.

Serving as pallbearers are Greg Rickert, Steve Rickert, Chuck Edgar, Joe Edgar, Tim Edgar, Brandon Edgar, Randy Edgar, and Bryce Rickert.
