Barbara Sanchez

Barbara Sanchez, age 69, of Tenaha, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, July 29, 2026, in Killeen, Texas.

Barbara Marcine Jenkins was born on July 21, 1957, in San Francisco, California, to the late Clifford Francis Jenkins and Louisa Ingram Jenkins. She graduated from Oceana High School in Pacifica, California, and later married Jose Orlando Sanchez, who preceded her in death in 1995.

Barbara dedicated many years of her life to caring for others, working as a caretaker and sitter in the healthcare industry. She had a generous heart and found joy in helping those around her. In her spare time, she enjoyed listening to music, preparing meals for family and friends, socializing, and trying her luck at the slot machines. She moved to Tenaha in 2003 and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by six siblings.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Antowan Sanchez and Antonio Sanchez; daughter-in-law, Courtney Sanchez; grandchildren, Adreia Sanchez, Antonio Sanchez, Jr., and Aidan Sanchez; siblings, Rosie Drake and husband Roy, Calvin Jenkins, Sr. and wife Dorenia, and Vivian Patrick; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Smith Chapel Baptist Church, 919 CR 4707, Timpson, TX with Rev. Mario Osby officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Jenkins Memorial Cemetery (Bulison Ranch) 152 CR 4644, Tenaha, TX. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
