Barbara Jones, 67 of Tatum, TX passed away January 8, 2021 at her home in Tatum. Barbara Ann Stowe, affectionately known as "Barbie", was born November 20, 1953 in Tucson, AZ to the union of Edward Jewel Stowe, and Mary Christine York who preceded her in death, along with grandparents, William Howard and Genie Stowe and William Thomas and Mary Elizabeth of Tatum. She was the sixth born of nine children. Barbara is survived by her 3 brothers, William H. Stowe, Jerry W. Stowe and Jimmy Stowe; her sisters, Lina J. Stowe, Lawanda G. King, Marion Arceneaux and Beverly L. Langlinais. Her sister, Dorothy Jewel Stowe preceded her in death welcoming her home.

Barbara resided in Tatum most of her life, attending Tatum ISD. On February 20, 1970, she wed Charles H. Jones in Gregg County. In 1974 she gave birth to her daughter, MaLisa Jones Styles who blessed her with 3 grandbabies, Haley Pyle, Myles Dean Styles and Alyssa Styles with her husband Rick.

In the dog days of summer of 1977, she gave birth to a son, Jason "2 Biscuit" Jones who also blessed her with two beautiful grandchildren, Trevor Jones and Trinity Jones, with their mother, Amanda.

In her time on this earth, Barbie's journey was like a rock thrown into a lake, sending ripples ever outward into the future. She loved animals and music and her friendships and family ignited the hearth that was her heart. If you were struggling, she would always tell you there is hope. She was a cancer survivor, the likes most of us would not survive…. but she did and did it well. "Never give up" she would say.

The ripples of Barbie's journey are still seen today in her children, brothers, sisters, every cousin, niece, nephews, grandchildren and friends/family who will live in her honor.

She was a force to be reckoned with and will be missed by many. Barbie, you were well loved!

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Adam Smith officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10-11 am. Burial will follow the service in the Tatum Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Rick Styles, Ryan Langlinais, Robert Dunn, Craig Stowe, Charles Jones, and Terry Edney.
