Barbara Lynn Bustin Lowrie, 73, of Carthage, passed away on Saturday morning, June 4, 2016, in Carthage. She was born on Oct. 15, 1942, in Shreveport to the late Hardwick and Melba Whitaker Bustin. Mrs. Lowrie graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1960. She attended Panola College and Sam Houston State University. Mrs. Lowrie worked in advertising for the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She moved to Carthage in 2006 from Parker, CO. After moving to Carthage, Mrs. Lowrie also worked as a substitute teacher for CISD and was involved with the Carthage Service League.

Survivors include her son Kurt Lowrie of Carthage; brother, Bob Bustin and wife Cheryl of Parker; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Cocklin officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Rehobeth Cemetery.
