Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Jean Bukowsky Metcalf, age 59, of DeBerry, TX, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Apr. 30, 2011, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eric Peyton and Bro. Bruce Will officiating. Interment will follow at Panola Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Metcalf passed away on Tuesday afternoon, Apr. 26, 2011, in Shreveport.

Barbara Jean Bukowsky Metcalf was born on July 5, 1951, in El Paso, TX to Arnold Sixt and Lillie Kendziora Bukowsky. She graduated from Longview High School and attended Kilgore College. After college, Barbara went to work for Continental Airlines in Houston and later transferred to Continental Express Airlines in Shreveport, where she retired after working for over 30 years. She then worked for Double D Auctioneers for many years. She married Wesley Allen Metcalf on Nov. 1, 1986 at New Hebron Baptist Church in Elysian Fields. Barbara moved from Houston to Shreveport and then to DeBerry where she has lived for the past 20 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waskom. Mrs. Metcalf was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Metcalf is survived by her husband, Wesley Metcalf of DeBerry; two sons, Greg Metcalf of DeBerry and Kenny Metcalf and wife Terra of Gower, Missouri; one half-brother, Darrell Hansford and wife Donna of Shreveport; and eight grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are Terry Will, Bobby Will, Jimmy Boyd, Jim Dillard, Jack Dillard, and Ralph Penuell.
