Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. Audrey R. Hill, age 93 of Gilmer, Texas, formerly of Panola County, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dale Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park Cemetery near Carthage. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hill passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 in Longview, Texas.
Audrey R. Murphy Hill was born on November 12, 1913 in Panola County, Texas to Thomas Preston and Mary Etta Childs Murphy. Mrs. Hill married Reverend B.C. Hill on March 1, 1941. She worked as a clerk at Jenkins Drug. Mrs. Hill had lived in Gilmer since 2002, moving from Carthage. She was a member of Carthage Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Reverend B.C. Hill, who passed away on January 30, 2000; four brothers, Willie, Elmo, Jeff, and Rayford (Mutt) Murphy; and three sisters, Wilma Lunsford, Eva Weatherly, and Thelma Harvey. and three sisters, Wilma Lunsford, Eva Weatherly, and Thelma Harvey.
Mrs. Hill is survived by one daughter, Mary Beth Baker and husband Kenneth of Gilmer; one brother, Junior Murphy and wife Billie of Huntsville; three sisters, Dorothy Smith of Houston, Frances Dial and husband Ralph of Pasadena, and Ouida Griffith and husband LeRoy of Carthage; two grandchildren, Lance Kirby and wife Patti of Dallas and Sonya Gallant and husband Donnie of New Diana; three step-grandchildren, Luke Baker and wife Kelsie of Gilmer, Kendra Baker of Euless, and Jared Baker of Sherman; four great-grandchildren, Kelsi and Dylan Hudson of New Diana and Zachary and Sam Kirby of Dallas; and three step great-grandchildren, Jaden Green of Gilmer, and Kaitlyn and Renee Gallant of Portland, Maine. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. Hill.
Serving as pallbearers are Donnie Gallant, Lance Kirby, Luke Baker, Jared Baker, Jim Griffith, and Malcolm Harvey.
