Arthur "Bug/Bud" Sutton, 78, of Carthage, Texas, was called home early Friday morning, on August 27, 2021. He was born on October 25, 1942, in Panola County and was the eldest child to the late Allen Sutton Jr. and Rowena Hall Sutton. He married the love of his life, Hazel Ware Sutton on June 8th, 1963, spending 58 wonderful years in love. His quiet demeanor and humbling spirit was loved by so many. Arthur enjoyed spending time exploring the great outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Football was his sport! He loved watching his sons and grandsons play the sport he loved as well as other sporting activities. He worked for many years with the longest and most significant jobs being Henderson Clay Products and Bo Gray Enterprises Inc. He had a strong willingness to work and help anyone that needed something done. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his two sons, Rodney and Christopher Sutton and his two brothers, James Sutton and Sam Sutton, Jr.

He leaves to honor his memory his loving wife, Hazel Ware Sutton; his youngest son, Purvis Sutton, wife Tamera; his 6 grandchildren, Rodney Jr., Andraes, D'Quontis, Jalen, Zachary and Brianna; his 4 great-grandchildren, Ronnee, Kyndal, Mahlani and Mahlia; and a host of relatives and friends that he loved dearly. Also close to his heart and like his own sons, John McMillian and Robert Gray.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leon Hicks officiating. Interment will follow in Holland's Quarter Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Bubba Williams, David Pope, James Wilcots, Jeff Pope, Jimmy Rayson, and Larry Pipkin.  Honorary pallbearers are D'Quontis Sutton, Jalen Sutton, Jesse Ware, John McMillian, Ontario Sutton, Purvis Sutton, Robert Gray, Rodney Sutton, Jr., Ronnee Sutton, and Zachary Sutton.
