Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home announces funeral services for Mr. Art Barnett, age 74, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dale Reed officiating. Interment will follow in DeBerry Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Barnett passed away on Sunday morning, Jan. 8, 2012, in Tyler.

Arthur Andrew "Art" Barnett was born on July 28, 1937, in Elysian Fields, TX to Vesta and Lydia Mayfield Barnett. He graduated from Elysian Fields High School with the class of 1955. Mr. Barnett married Brenda Lee Hayes Foshee on March 6, 2000, in Carthage. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and riding horses. He also loved to tinker and was a jack of all trades. Mr. Barnett owned and operated Barnett Trash Removal Service in Panola County for over 35 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Vesta Gene Barnett and E.S. Bogue.

Mr. Barnett is survived by his wife, Brenda Barnett of Carthage; one daughter, Karen Barnett Bolton of Houston; three sons, Gary, Poncho, and Bradley Barnett and wife Jeannie all of Carthage; two step-sons, Charles Foshee and wife Heather of White Oak and John Foshee of Clear Water, FL; one brother, Bubba Bogue and wife Donna of Hallsville; two sisters, Mollie Evans of Ruston, LA and JoAnn Reynolds of Idaho; five grandchildren, Brandi Brooks Bryant and husband Trey, Tyler, Brady, and Jase Barnett, and Harper Foshee; and two great-grandchildren, Blake and Brinkley Bryant.

Serving as pallbearers are Wayne Chappell, Russell Whitaker, Cody Whitaker, J.C. Whitaker, Kelly Allen, James Hill, and Josh Romero.
