Obituary

Arona Taylor, 89, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Saturday morning, November 11, 2023, in Carthage. Arona Ann Wynn was born on January 31, 1934, in Corpus Christi, Texas to the late Doyle Conard and Floyce Marie Smith Wynn. She married Henry Albert Taylor on December 20, 1950, in Gilbertown, Alabama and he preceded her in death on November 12, 2020, after 70 years together. Mrs. Taylor worked for many years in the retail business for Palais Royal until retirement. She was a very talented musician and had a beautiful voice. Mrs. Taylor could play over 14 instruments and served as the pianist at many churches through the years. During WWII, she enjoyed playing music and singing for the soldiers. She loved to play for her family any chance she got. Mrs. Taylor was a natural caregiver and was always taking care of family members or friends that may have fallen ill, often times moving in with them until they got better. She enjoyed arranging flowers and especially loved spending time with her family that she adored. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Barcelona Baptist Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was also preceded in death by her son, Randy Brad Taylor and a son-in-law, Gerald "Jerry" Buechler.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by her daughter, Teri Buechler; granddaughters, Shawna Ra'e Briggs and husband Ron and Rebecca Taylor; great-grandchildren, MSgt. Jeremy Davis and wife Courtney, Chelsea Hamilton and husband Jace, Kolby Briggs and wife Laney, Macie Brown and husband Matt, SrA. Brannon Davis, Mya ra'e Davis, Logan Briggs, and Callie May; and great-great-grandchildren, Aubrie, Blake, Karrington, Bennett, Avery, Zander, Anslee, and one on the way, Olivia Kay.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Taylor's sitters, Tina and Pat with Christian Love Private Home Care, the staff and nurses at Carthage Healthcare, especially Melissa McKnight, and Amber Lee at UT Health for the loving care provided to Mrs. Taylor.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Rehobeth Cemetery with Bro. Arnold Shrewsbury officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Jace Hamilton, Kolby Briggs, SrA. Brannon Davis, Logan Briggs, Matt Brown, and David Price. Honorary pallbearer is MSgt. Jeremy Davis.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude or Jimmy Swaggart Ministries.
