A funeral service for Mrs. Arlene Sinclair Cabaniss, age 90, of Cherokee County, TX, formerly of Carthage, TX, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Mrs. Cabaniss's nephew, Bro. Buddy Bankhead, officiating. Entombment will follow at Restland Memorial Park near Carthage. The family will receive friends on Thursday morning at the funeral home from 9-10 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Cabaniss passed away on Sunday night, Sept. 30, 2012, in Jacksonville, TX.

Arlene Sinclair Cabaniss was born in Mt. Pleasant, TX, on July 30, 1922, to William Morris and Lenora Blanche Stroman Sinclair. She married Jesse Colman Cabaniss in 1938, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1991. Mrs. Cabaniss worked as an LVN-Nurse at Panola General Hospital for many years until her retirement. She moved to Carthage in 1965, from South Texas and was a longtime member of the Carthage Church of Christ. Mrs. Cabaniss was also preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Jean Milner; two brothers, William Morris Sinclair, Jr. and Hoyt Dean Sinclair; and two sisters, Betty Ruth Duncan and Gwen Barnfield.

Mrs. Cabaniss is survived by one brother, Bill Sinclair and wife Marge of Rusk, TX; one granddaughter, Dr. Erin Koster of Dallas, TX; two great-grandchildren, Jack and Grace Koster; sisters-in-law, Vivian Newhall and husband Bill of California and Bea Lewellen and husband Lloyd of Grapevine; and special friends, Harlon and Louise Dyke and Maggie Leach of Lake Murvaul. Numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of brothers and sisters in Christ also survive Mrs. Cabaniss.

Serving as pallbearers are David Sosby, David Sinclair, Harlon Dyke, Curt Cabaniss, Jr., Ron Rhiddlehoover, and Bryan Sosby.
