Annie Lois Franklin, 85, of Carthage, passed away on Friday morning, June 10, 2016 in Carthage. She was born on December 11, 1930 to Martha Morris and Jesse Edmond in Tatum, Texas. She made Panola County her home, where she met her husband R. Lee Franklin and became a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Five beautiful children were the result of the 60 year union of R. Lee and Annie Lois Franklin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R. Lee Franklin, one daughter Annie Louise Franklin, and three granddaughters. Annie Lois leaves to mourn in her passing one daughter Loretta Collier of Deberry (son-in-law Arthur), and three sons, R. L. Franklin (daughter-in-law Shirley), Raymond Franklin (daughter-in-law Olera Franklin), and Barry Franklin (daughter-in-law Toni). She also leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren to carry on her legacy.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. J.T. Harris officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Interment will be at Walker Memorial Cemetery in Carthage Texas. Mrs. Franklin will lie in state from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Elijah Collier, Joseph Collier, Eddie Beck, Louis Burroughs, Larry Williams, and Johnnie Williams.

Honorary pallbearers are Raymond Collier, DeJon Franklin, DeSean Franklin, Terry Franklin, Ahmod Franklin, Bernando Franklin, Christopher Franklin, Derrick Jones, and Christopher Jones.
