Obituary
Funeral services for Ms. Annie Ragster Brownlee, age 59 of Beckville, Texas, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Beckville United Methodist Church with Reverend Nakia Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery near Beckville. Ms. Brownlee will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church. Ms. Brownlee passed away on Monday morning, January 7, 2008 at her home in Beckville.
Annie Bea Ragster Brownlee was born on January 21, 1948 to the parentage of Bea Lewis and Lizzie Mae Ragster. She was the fourth of eleven children. Annie was born and raised in Beckville, Texas where she graduated as valedictorian from Sunset High School with the class of 1966. Ms. Brownlee also attended Kilgore College where she studied watch making. She later moved to Houston, Texas where she worked as a watchmaker as well as a hotel food service manager at the Four Seasons Hotel. She returned to Beckville in 1994. Annie received Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Bethel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Beckville. She was preceded in death by her father, Bea L. Ragster; two sisters, Annie M. Hunt and Sarah B. Collier; one brother, Arlean Smith; and a grandson, Rodney Williams.
Annie left to absorb the sting of her death and to trust in the Holy Spirit, her mother, Lizzie M. Ragster of Beckville, TX; three children, Carrie Tatum and husband Gary of Beckville, TX, Karen Fuller and husband John of Tatum, TX and Tyrone Brownlee, Jr. of Houston, TX; siblings, Bobbie Moore of Tacoma, WA, Rosa Adams and husband Rob of Beckville, TX, Jessie Bea and husband George of Fort Worth, TX, Barbara D. Parramore and husband Ricky of Arlington, TX, Sharon Ragster of Beckville, TX, Liliah Moore and husband Eddie of Fort Worth, TX, Silas Ragster of Dallas, TX, Thomas Ragster and wife Sandra of Fort Worth, TX, and Johnny Ragster of Beckville, TX; grandchildren, Robert Williams, LeMichaeleon Williams, JaMira Alexander, Paul Fuller, Corey Fuller, and Gary Tatum, Jr. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Ms. Brownlee.
Serving as pallbearers are Cyrano Barryer, John Fuller, Sr., Sammy McMillian, Mackel Moore, Gary Tatum, Sr., and Richard Jinks.
