Graveside services for Mrs. Anna Marie Sumners Nowlin, age 44, of Tatum, TX, will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at Restland Memorial Park near Carthage with Bro. Mike Nelson officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home prior to the service. Mrs. Nowlin passed away on Friday afternoon, Nov. 12, 2010, near Gilmer.
Anna Marie Sumners Nowlin was born on March 31, 1966, in Biloxi, Mississippi to Darlie Elbert "Lucky" Sumners and Pauline Gloria Rheault Sumners. She attended Western Hills High School and message therapy school in Ft. Worth. Mrs. Nowlin loved the outdoors, country living, and caring for horses. She moved to the East Texas area in 2000, from Ft. Worth and was a member of the Bar None Cowboy Church near Tatum. Mrs. Nowlin was preceded in death by her mother.
Mrs. Nowlin is survived by her father, Lucky Sumners of McPherson, KS; her husband, Elvon Nowlin of Sulphur Springs; two sons, Matt Sumners and wife Toni of Carthage and Devyn Sumners of Tatum; four sisters, Kathy Pruitt and husband Craig of Arlington, Diana Deathridge and husband Bob of St. Cloud, FL, Lisa Williams and husband Kenny of Granbury, and Riche` Kidwell of Gilmer; and one grandson, Michael Joseph Sumners.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Steve Jennings, Matt Sumners, Devyn Sumners, Chris Smith, Mike O'Connor, and Shane Tucker.
