Mrs. Anna Mae Bishop, age 79, of Deadwood, TX, passed away on Thursday evening, Jan. 10, 2013, in Shreveport, LA. A memorial graveside service with inurnment will take place at Deadwood Cemetery at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
Anna Mae Schuster Bishop was born on July 19, 1933, in South Lyon, Michigan to Frederick Otto and Dora Mae Darling Schuster. Mrs. Bishop graduated from South Lyon High School with the class of 1951. She married Frankie Lee Roy Bishop on July 11, 1953, in South Lyon and he preceded her in death on Apr. 30, 2010. Mrs. Bishop worked at Sears for many years until her retirement. She loved quilting and doing embroidery work. Mrs. Bishop moved to Panola County in 1998, from Rockwall, TX. She was a member of the Deadwood United Methodist Church. Mrs. Bishop was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Fred Schuster.
Mrs. Bishop is survived by three sons, Brian Bishop of Deadwood, Larry Bishop of Garland, and Ed Bishop and wife Stephanie of Deadwood; one daughter, Linda Newton and husband Todd of Rockwall; one brother, Ken Schuster of South Lyon; one sister, Donna Johnson and husband Bill of Tecumseh, MI; three grandchildren, Mary Bishop of Dallas, Brandon Bishop of Phoenix, and Priscilla Bishop of Deadwood; and a special friend, Bonnie Lynch of Deadwood.
