Ann McDaniel, age 79, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Tuesday night, September 16, 2025, in Tyler, Texas. Justine Ann Wise was born on October 17, 1945, in El Paso, Texas. She graduated from Marian High School in Houston, Texas with the class of 1963, and attended Stephen F. Austin State University. Ann later earned her associate's degree from Panola College in Carthage. She married John Andrew McDaniel on April 4, 1964, and he preceded her in death on November 2, 1998, after 34 years together. Ann was an animal lover, especially dogs and more specifically the Scottish terrier breed. She moved to Carthage in 2015, from Houston and was an avid supporter of the Carthage Bulldogs. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Allen and Margaret L. "Maria" Edmonds Wise; her husband, John Andrew McDaniel; daughter, Margaret McDaniel; and brothers, Allen and Noel Wise.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Ann-Marie Schneider and husband David and great-grandchildren, Zoey and Zane Schneider.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.
