Funeral services for Mr. Alvie Randall Bellamy, Sr., age 70, of Carthage, TX, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery in the Riderville Community of Panola County. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Bellamy passed away on Saturday morning, March 26, 2011, in Shreveport.
Alvie Randall Bellamy, Sr. was born on Sept. 25, 1940, in Panola County, TX to Thurmon and Kathleen Minter Bellamy. He graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1959, and then attended Panola College. Mr. Bellamy served his country in the U.S. Army from 1960-1963, and was honorably discharged. He worked in the Oil Field Industry for many years until his retirement. Mr. Bellamy loved reading, especially Louis Lamour books and watching westerns. He was a member of the Carthage Masonic Lodge #521 A.F. & A.M. Mr. Bellamy lived all of his life in Panola County and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Autry Bellamy.
Mr. Bellamy is survived by one son, A.R. Bellamy; one daughter, Michelle Bellamy; and one granddaughter, Madie Davis all of Carthage.
Serving as pallbearers are Wade Youngblood, Richard Anderson, Mike Johnson, and Bryan Murff.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Bobby Plemons, James Youngblood, and Bobby Lum.
