Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Alonzola Studdard, age 75 of Carthage, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 9, 2006 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Stewart and David Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park Cemetery near Carthage. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Studdard passed away on Friday, October 6, 2006 in Carthage.

Alonzola Covington Studdard was born on May 6, 1931 in Center, Texas to Alonzo and Vera Floyd Covington. She graduated from Center High School and later earned a Bachelor's Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1950. She married Pat Henry Studdard in Center. Mrs. Studdard was an educator for over 30 years. For many years, she wrote "Zoe's Recipe Box," a column in the Panola Watchman Newspaper. She was very active in many civic organizations in the community including, the Retired Teacher's Association, Alpha Delta Kappa Teacher's Sorority, The Book Forum of Carthage, and the Child Protective Services Board of Panola County. Mrs. Studdard had lived in Carthage for 53 years moving from Center. She was a member of the Community Church of Christ in Carthage. Mrs. Studdard is preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1984, and one sister, Becky Stewart in 2006.

Mrs. Studdard is survived by two daughters, Suzi Hogan and husband Tim of Mansfield, Texas and Roxie Bostick and husband Mike of Carthage; one sister, Kathleen Hudson and husband Fred of Center; five grandchildren, Andrew Bogue and wife Karis of Hallsville, Emily Bogue Heflin and husband C. J. of Arlington, Trevor Tate of Carthage, Ethan Tate of Carthage, and Lucas Tate of Carthage; one step grandson, Jared Bostick; four great-grandchildren, Brandon Heflin, Nicholas Moore, Kendley Moore, and Carson Bogue.

Serving as pallbearers are Andrew Bogue, Phil Pool, Dave Gorrie, Calvin Turner, Steve Garrett, and Mark Foster. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Conrad Allison, Greer Bell, Trevor Tate, Ethan Tate, Lucas Tate, Jared Bostick, Ed Finklea, Keith Scott, Mike Bostick, and Tim Hogan.
