IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Allie Sue
Cox
August 25, 1939 – September 3, 2017
Allie Sue Muckelroy Cox, 77, left this earthly life to enjoy eternal life with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017, in Fort Worth, Texas. Sue was born on Aug. 25, 1939, in Velasco, Texas, the only child of E.A. "Muck" and Gertie Muckelroy. A Texas Gulf Coast girl, Sue grew up in Lake Jackson, where in high school she fell for a tall, shy red-headed boy in the band named Ken. Sue and Ken graduated from Brazosport High School and then from Texas Christian University together. After Ken completed medical school and residency, they settled in Conroe, Texas, to raise their four children. Somehow in the midst of diapering, carpooling and guiding toddlers, tweens and then teens, Sue found time to volunteer for years at the First Presbyterian Church of Conroe, the San Jacinto Girl Scout Council and the Lake Conroe Women's Auxiliary. If there was one thing Sue was more passionate about than Bible study, it might have been TCU football. So it was no surprise when Ken's retirement in 2000 brought a move to Aledo, Texas, near Fort Worth, where they enjoyed a decade of TCU Horned Frog football games and time with their grown children and grandchildren. In that decade and beyond, Sue kept family at the forefront by planning all-family vacations, creating lifetime memories for entire Cox clan. After 51 years of marriage, Sue lost Ken in 2011. She later met and married Samuel Clugston in 2014. Sue was preceded in death by Ken and her parents, Muck and Gertie Muckelroy.
Survivors: Allison Cox Frank, Amy Cox Kirkland and husband, Aubrey, Angie Cox McCoy and husband, Tim and Mike Cox and wife, Susan; as well as her grandchildren, Bragen, Bronte and Bryce Frank, Cameron, Kellen and Kendall Kirkland, Austin and Jacob McCoy, and Tate and Allie Cox.
