Alice Sharp, 97, of Beckville, TX, passed away on Friday morning, April 5, 2019, in Carthage. Alice Maurine Sanders Sharp was born on Nov. 15, 1921, in Panola County, TX, to the late Wade Hampton and Carrie Mae Barton Sanders. She graduated from Carthage High School where she was on the cheer squad. Mrs. Sharp attended Panola College where she earned a LVN and worked for many years at Panola General Hospital. She married Excell L. Sharp and he preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1984. Mrs. Sharp lived her lifetime in Panola County and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Beckville. She was also a member of the Order of The Eastern Star #273.  She was preceded in death by all of her siblings and son-in-law, David East.

Survivors include her children, Lynn Sharp and wife Sherron of Whitehouse, Sandra Sharp East of Houston, Johnny Wade Sharp of Beckville, and Debbie Bennett and husband Donny of Beckville; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 8, 2019, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
