Alice Marie Greer, 74, of Tatum, Texas, was born on January 29, 1948, in Danville, Illinois to Robert and Helen Elaine Vanvekoven Wright. She died on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, in Grand Saline, Texas. Mrs. Greer moved to Tatum with her husband, Bryan, in 1974. She retired in 2013, from Joy Global/LeTourneau, in Longview, Texas, after working in administration there for many years. Alice was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Lakeport, Texas since 1987. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Helen Wright; husband, Bryan Greer; four brothers, George Vanvekoven, Bill Wright, Jim Wright and Greg Wright; and her sister and best friend, Lorna Hays.

She is survived by her two sons, Scott Greer and his wife Mary of Carencro, Louisiana and Chuck Greer and his wife Amanda of Grand Saline, Texas; stepson, Born Glare of Danville, Virginia; and grandchildren, Marion Greer, Raegan Greer, Jeffrey Greer, Annell Greer, Drake Glare, and new granddaughter Khloe West.  Additionally, she is survived by a brother-in-law, Fred Hays of Tatum, Texas; and two sisters-in-law, Doris Vanvekoven of Catlin, Illinois and Nora Gaines of Gladewater, Texas.  A host of nieces and nephews also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 24, 2022, at Trinity Baptist Church in Lakeport with Pastor Ross Law officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Monday at the church prior to the service. Interment will be in Vinson Cemetery in Tatum.
