Obituary

Agnes Albina Zalman Zamazal passed away peacefully in Carthage, Texas on March 27, 2019 surrounded by family and friends. Local arrangements are by Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.

Born on December 16, 1928 in El Campo, Texas to the late Anton and Albina Pilcik Zalman, Agnes lived much of her life to serve her family and God.

She is survived by her two sons, Frank Zamazal Sr. and wife Linda of El Campo, Texas and John Zamazal and wife Pencie of Carthage, Texas, grandchildren, Frank Zamazal Jr. and wife Denise of Needville, Texas, Craig Zamazal and wife Lana of Pflugerville, Texas, Honey Bumstead and husband Tommy of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia and Chad Zamazal of Crystal Beach, Texas, as well as 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis Zamazal, grandchildren Johnna Zamazal and Derek Zamazal, brothers Joe Zalman Sr., Celestine Zalman, William Zalman, Ed Zalman, Jerome Zalman, Albert Zalman, Richard Zalman, Anthony Zalman, and sister Mary Valchar.

Agnes lived a full life, with her love of family as the cornerstone of her beautiful legacy. Many of her grandchildren to this day refer to her fondly as "Chicken Grandma", because of her many chickens she had to harvest eggs and cook delicious chicken noodle soup. There will not be a day that goes by where her infectious laugh, keen ability of playing tricks and lovingly picking on her family will not be missed dearly.

When Christmas season approaches each year, we will be continually reminded of her passion of serving the Lord as a member of St. Philips Catholic Church, her love of creating beautiful flower arrangements and Christmas decorations at Loughlin's, and the abundant kolaches, rice crispies, cookies and especially her homemade bread she gladly gave away in return for smiles.

Visitation will begin at 4:00PM on Sunday, March 31st at Triska Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 6:00PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 1st at 10:00AM at St. Philips Catholic Church. Agnes will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Memorial Park, El Campo next to her husband Louis.

The pallbearers will be Frank Zamazal Jr., Craig Zamazal, Chad Zamazal, Tommy Bumstead, Blythe Bumstead, Ryan Bumstead and Riley Zamazal.

Donations in memory of Agnes Zamazal can be made to St. Philip Catholic Church.

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die." – John 11:25-26
