Memorial services for Mrs. Agnes Ann Drewery Griffith, age 87 of the Longbranch Community of Panola County, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2000 Hwy 64 West, Henderson, with Minister Jack Runnels officiating. Mrs. Griffith passed away on Saturday morning, September 26, 2009, in Carthage. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home.

Agnes Ann Drewery Griffith was born on August 31, 1922, in Gary, Texas to William Ernest and Inez Green Drewery. She attended Timpson and Carthage schools and later attended Panola College and Stephen F. Austin State University. Mrs. Griffith married Paul Griffith, Jr. on August 13, 1945, in Henderson. She and Mr. Griffith moved to Longbranch in 1981, from Houston. Mrs. Griffith was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, William Ernest Drewery, Travis Harold Drewery, Howard Drewery, and Henry Drewery; and three sisters, Ruth Corder, Maudell Griffith, and Evelyn Inez Lombardo.

Mrs. Griffith is survived by her husband of 64 years, Paul Griffith, Jr. of the Longbranch Community; one daughter, Paulette Curtis and husband Tom of Huntsville; one brother, Tom Paul Drewery and wife Eva of Gary; one sister, Betty Joyce Crump of Marshall; two grandchildren, Heather Annette Holloway and husband George of Houston and Thomas Ashley Curtis and wife Kristi of Carthage; and two great-grandchildren, Joseph Allen Paul Holloway and Hayden Brock Holloway. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. Griffith.
