Obituary
Funeral services for Mr. Adrian Don Parks, age 72, of Beckville, TX, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2012, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gary Orr and Bro. Mike Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Langley Cemetery near Beckville. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Parks passed away on Wednesday morning, March 21, 2012.
Adrian Don Parks was born on Oct. 12, 1939, in Trinidad, TX to Johnnie Simpson and Ila Mozelle Terry Parks. He graduated from Trinidad High School with the class of 1958. Mr. Parks earned a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&I in Kingsville. He was in the U.S. Air Force where he served in the Air Police and trained guard dogs before being honorably discharged. Mr. Parks married Rosa Elizabeth Metcalf on June 17, 1963, in Durant, OK. He was a member of the Beckville Masonic Lodge #922. He loved riding horses and playing golf. Mr. Parks moved to Panola County in 1974, from Corpus Christi and was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Lakeport, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Parks is survived by his wife, Rosa Parks of Beckville; two children, Rebecca Terri Alfaro and husband Freddy and Adrianne Dawn Cohorst and husband Brian; special nephew, Terry Lee Smiley and wife Vicki; grandchildren, Jacye Ellen and Dalye Rose Narcisse Alfaro, Tyler Jacob Cohorst and wife Karlee, Levi Adron and Stacey Brian Cohorst, Amber Kay, Zachary Lee, and Joshua Don Smiley, and Holli and Austin Minor; great-grandchildren, Kallie Elizabeth, Eli Carr, and Bryson Cash Cohorst and Ryker Addison Smiley; one brother, Gene Parks; two sisters, Judy Rogers and husband James and Janice Rogers and husband Donnie; and one brother-in-law, Willie J. Metcalf and wife Carolyn. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive Mr. Parks.
Serving as pallbearers are Bert Langley, Johnny Eugene Metcalf, Donnie Rogers, Jr., Buddy Sullivan, Lance Cohorst, and Steve Metcalf.
