Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Addie Mae Hartley, age 75 of Carthage, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dale Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Old Center Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hartley passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2008 in Longview, Texas.

Addie Mae Wimberly Hartley was born on July 17, 1932 in Menard, Texas to Wiley and Lavada Vice Wimberly. She married Alvin DeBerry Hartley on October 30, 1955 at Old Center Baptist Church in Panola County, Texas. Mrs. Hartley loved sewing, quilting, collecting dolls, and she cherished her family. She had lived most of her life in Panola County and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Hartley was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Cecil, Carlis, and Wayne Wimberly; and a special niece Donna Sue Boyette.

Mrs. Hartley is survived by her husband of over 52 years, Alvin Hartley of Carthage; three sons, Alvin Wayne Hartley and wife Kim of Kilgore, Frankie L. Hartley and wife Carey of Shreveport, and Scotty Hartley and fiancé Laci of Carthage; one daughter, Melinda Gail Williams of Carthage; five sisters, Bonnie Faye Watts and husband Morgan of Lufkin, Gloria Lane and husband Leon of Carthage, Shirley McGuire and husband Jimmy of DeBerry, Inez Wilson of Carthage, and Virginia Harris of Athens; eleven grandchildren and one on the way; three great-grandchildren and two on the way. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mrs. Hartley.

Serving as pallbearers are Johnny Gonzales, Mike Bostick, Garrett Welch, Thomas Singletary, Jesse Ross, Terry Smith, Jeremy Rhodes. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Terry Muirhead and Chad Rawlinson.

If desired, memorials may be made to a benefit account setup in Mrs. Hartley's name at the First State Bank & Trust Co. in Carthage to help pay for funeral expenses.
