Ada Lee Hudson, 76, of Carthage, passed away on Thursday morning, July 5, 2018, in Carthage. Ada Lee Woods Hudson was born on Jan. 14, 1942, in Carthage, to the late John Melvin "Pete" and Ruby Juanita Hayden Woods. She graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1959 and attended Panola College. She married Herbert Lynn Hudson on June 27, 1959, at Southside Baptist Church in Carthage. Mrs. Hudson was very active in the community, especially when it related to activities for her children and grandchildren. She was an avid gardener, who took great pride in flower gardening and a was a talented artist. Her true gift was sharing her beautiful voice in song, which brought joy to many. Ada Lee was a long-time and faithful member of Southside Baptist Church, having joined at the age of 9. Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John L. "Pete" Woods.

Survivors include her devoted and loving husband of 59 years, Herb Hudson of Carthage; son, Randy Hudson and wife Sheila, of Heath; daughter, Melanie Hudson of Carthage; and grandchildren, Jace Randel Hudson, John Ross Hudson, Haylea Elyse Hudson, Hayden Bryce Hudson, and Hunter Laken Hudson.

The family will receive friends for a meal and reception from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018, at Southside Baptist Church prior to the funeral service. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. on Friday at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Holder and Dr. Kirby Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Stan Davis, Jerry Dorman, Jace Hudson, Ross Hudson, Bryce Hudson and Hunter Hudson. Honorary Pallbearers are Jess Powers, Dennis Smith, Joe Hough, Bobby Etheredge, John Pace, Tony Martin and Haylea Hudson.

The Family would like to thank all who have called, visited, provided meals and prayed for them during this time. In addition, a special Thank You goes to Marian Place. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.
