AC Thompson, age 92, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Saturday morning, March 29, 2025, in Houston, Texas. He was born on May 13, 1932, in San Bernardino, California, to the late Lloyd Thompson and Estelle Rayson Hines. AC served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He married Carnell Jossey Thompson, and she preceded him in death on January 19, 1988. AC moved to Carthage from Pratt, Kansas in 1985, and worked for Cities Service Oil Company. He was a member of the Carthage Church of Christ. AC was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Jerome Thompson.

Survivors include his son, Milton Thompson (Terrie); daughter, Charlene Thomas (Edward); grandchildren, Christopher Thompson, LeNae Allison, Edward Thomas, Jr, and Michael Thompson; and great-grandchildren, Kamari Thompson, Jaden Smith, Emery Allison, and Maliah Allison.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Melton, Sr. of Bellfort Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park. A time of visitation will be from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the funeral service.

Pallbearers will be members of the American Legion.

Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Thomas Sr., Edward Thomas Jr., W.C. Gladney, Christopher Thompson, Michael Thompson, and Lloyd Thompson.
